    A symposium organized during Big Data Week Utrecht by Karin van Es and Tom van de Wetering and sponsored by Utrecht Data School. Through a high-powered speaker panel and a roundtable discussion, the different ways in which frameworks for thinking about and working with big data are being developed and actuated in practice. Part I summarizes the main points of Dr. Bernhard Rieder, Jan-Willem van Beek, and Ellen Bijsterbosch. Amateur video recordings of each speaker on YouTube are linked here.     Between February 4 and May 20, I interned at the Hengelo-based company Nieuwbouw Nederland. My internship research and my assignment for the company involved designing and delivering the content for a corporate website. Next to this, I advised the company on how to use social media and assist them in daily work.

    Just received the official notification that our 1 Million € research project on 'persuasive gaming' will be supported by NWO Topsector Creative Industries. Jeroen Jansz (EUR), Ben Schouten (TU/e), Joke Witteveen (xmediaworks) and Joost Raessens (UU) will start hiring two PhD candidates and one Postdoc soon. Project is a collaboration with game companies IJsfontein, xmediaworks and Submarine.
